Some users may experience an issue when attempting to download the RD Map app from the Android Play store.
If the following message is displayed:
'This app isn't available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android'
The App can be downloaded as an APK file from the Radiodetection website.
Please use the link below to access RD Map page
https://www.radiodetection.com/en/products/data-solutions/rd-map
On the RD Map product page select or scroll down to the 'Downloads' section and select 'RD Map Direct Download APK'.
Once selected, the APK file will automatically download to your Windows 'Downloads' folder.
Once downloaded copy the APK file to your Android device and install.
If you direct downloaded the file from our website using a new Android device such as a phone or a tablet, or copied the file from a PC to the device This is what is required to get it working.
- Navigate to the RD Maps 1.1.0.APK file.
- Select it to install / extract the file.
- You may be presented with a security warning. "My Files - For your security, your phone currently isn't allowed to install unknown apps from this source. You can change this in Settings"
- Select settings and it will allow you to change the toggle to allow the program to install. In my case it was "My Files" that needed to be enabled.
- You will then be asked "Do you want to install this app" Select Install and proceed through any installation questions such as the terms and conditions.
