Using the Menu

The RD8200SG locator and transmitter menus allow you to select or change system options. Once entered, the menu is navigated using the arrow keys. Navigation is consistent on both the transmitter and the locator. In the menu the options will appear in the bottom left-hand corner of the display. Note that when browsing the locator menu, the frequency key.pngand antenna key.png keys act as left and right arrows.

When browsing the transmitter menu the frequency key.pngand measure key.png keys act as left and right arrows. The right arrow enters a sub-menu and the left arrow selects the option and returns to the previous menu.

 

Navigating the locator menu

  1. Press the power key.pngkey to enter the menu.
  2. Use the up arrow.png or down arrow.png keys to scroll through the menu options.
  3. Press the antenna key.png key to enter the option's sub-menu.
  4. Use the up arrow.png or down arrow.png arrows to scroll through the sub-menu options.
  5. Press the frequency key.pngkey to make a selection and return to the previous menu
  6. Press the power key.pngkey to return to the main operation screen.

Locator Menu options

VOLAdjust the speaker volume from 0 (mute) to 5 (loudest)
PHONESelect phone type – Android or iOS®
SMLOGManage survey measurements and its communication over Bluetooth
ILOCEnable, disable, reset or pair iLOC connections
GPSEnable / disable the internal GPS module and enable RTK
CDRPerform a Current Direction (CD) Reset. (when in CD mode)
UNITSSelect metric or imperial units
TICKTAdds additional utility information into the log data
UTILEnable or disable utility selection
ULISTUtility Selection – Only visible if utility section is active
LANGSelect menu language
POWERSelect local power network frequency: 50 or 60Hz
ANTEnable or disable antenna modes
FREQEnable or disable individual frequencies
ALERTEnable or disable StrikeAlert
BATTSet battery type: Alkaline, NiMH or Li-Ion
ARROWSelect NULL or proportional Guidance (GUIDE) arrows in Peak+ mode
COMPEnable or disable display of the Compass feature.

AUDIOSet audio tone frequency level high or low
SWINGEnable or disable swing warning
INFORun a Self-Test, show the locator software version and revision, set
magnetic compass (MAG-H), display the date of the most recent
service recalibration (CAL) or the most recent eCert calibration
(ECERT)

Navigating the transmitter menu

  1. Press the power keykey to enter the menu.
  2. Use the up arrowordown arrowkeys to scroll through the menu options.
  3. Press the measure keykey to enter the option's sub-menu.
  4. Use the up arrowor down arrowarrows to scroll through the sub-menu options.
  5. Press the frequency keykey to make a selection and return to the previous menu or exit the menu.
  6. Press the power keykey to return to the main operation screen.

Transmitter Menu options

VOLAdjust the speaker volume from 0 (mute) to 3 (loudest)
FREQEnable or disable individual frequencies
BOOSTBoost transmitter output for a specified period of time (in minutes)
LANGSelect menu language
OPT FRun SideStepauto™ to auto-select a locate frequency for the connected utility
BATTSet battery type: Alkaline, NiMH or LiIon. Select Eco mode (alkaline batteries only)
MAX PSet the transmitter to output its maximum wattage.
MODELMatch the transmitter setting to the model of your locator
MAX VSet the output voltage to maximum (90V)
iLOCEnable, disable or pair Bluetooth connections (TX10B model only)
INFOShow the transmitter software version and revision
