Smart Tech Air Dryer Manual Operation Mode

Issue: Dryer does not run long enough to allow for troubleshooting or shuts down due to false alarms caused by a faulty sensor.

Operation: The manual operation mode allows for the user to selectively bypass alarm conditions that would normally cause the dryer to shut down. This can be a valuable troubleshooting tool or allow for the dryer to continue running and supplying dry air on the system in the event of a faulty sensor until a replacement part can be installed.

Manual operation can also be used to force a dryer to run while it is in standby mode when being controlled by an ATS300 without interrupting the ATS300 rotation cycle.

To enable manual operation:

  • Locate the ATS Interface board located on the rear of the dryer and put the toggle switch (red arrow) into the down position to turn manual operation ON.

  • Once the toggle switch has been switched on the status LED on the front of the dryer will begin flashing red and the manual operation menu should come up on the display.
  • In the manual operation menu, each of the separate alarms that will cause the dryer to shut down are listed. Any of the listed alarms that have a check mark next to them will be ignored by the dryer and allow the dryer to continue running. Use caution when bypassing alarms in manual operation mode as dryer damage can result if some legitimate alarms are bypassed and the dryer continues running.

Manual Override Options

  • AC BROWN OUT
  • HUMIDITY (NOTE: Humidity alarm override will keep the dryer running but will not override the humidity bypass allowing airflow to the output)
  • HIGH SYSTEM PRESSURE
  • LOW SYSTEM PRESSURE
  • HIGH LINE PRESSURE
  • LOW LINE PRESSURE
  • HIGH WATER TEMP
  • LOW WATER TEMP
  • LOW WATER LEVEL
  • HIGH WATER LEVEL
  • HIGH FLOW
  • CIRCUIT BREAKER

Select the individual alarm to bypass by using the checkmark button to check or un-check the alarm. Any alarm with a checkmark next to it will be ignored.

If using manual operation mode to temporarily bring a fully functional dryer online no alarms need to be checked.
