PointMan is unable to connect to the receiver

GPS Error: Unable to connect to the receiver. Please check the following:

  • The receiver is powered on.
  • The correct receiver is selected.
  • The receiver is not paired or connected to another device.

Check pairing:

1. Check that both Bluetooth chips are paired in the Bluetooth menu on your mobile phone.


2. Go to PointMan settings. Under ‘Devices’ check that both Bluetooth chips are connected. Make sure that the serial number starting with RTK is linked to the ‘GPS’ field and the serial number starting with 82SG is linked to the ‘Locator’ field.

If the 'Device' options on the 'Settings' screen of the PointMan app is not listing the Radiodetection devices as illustrated, check that you have the latest version of the Pointman app installed. You can do this by checking if there is an update available in the Google App Play store on your mobile device.

3. If everything is set up correctly and PointMan is still unable to connect to the receiver, unpair both Bluetooth devices and switch off the locator. Switch the locator back on, re-pair the Bluetooth chips and try again to connect.
