When the sensor is connected and enabled, this screen allows taking up to 16 measurements to better identify the pipe or leak location.
To enable the acoustic sensor:
- Enable the Acoustic Sensor input by a single press of the Sensor Control button.
There are 2 controls available:
Volume: Use this to control the sound level in your headphones
WARNING: Excessive volume levels may cause hearing damage.
Gain: Use this to increase / decrease the sensitivity
NOTE: Set the Gain during the first measurement only to ensure consistency during all measurements.
To start a measurement:
- Move the acoustic sensor to the desired location.
- Remove your hand from the handle (to avoid adding noise to the sensor) and ensure to avoid making other sounds.
- Tap on column 01 the measurement you wish to take and the unit will show 2 columns:
- A thick column which is the average of the underground sound which filters out all the random noise.
- The thin column on the right represents the instantaneous noise.
- Once the measurement is stable you can lock the reading by pressing column 01 again, the signal value color will change from Red to White.
- Move the acoustic sensor to the next position, tap column 02 and repeat step4, pressing the column 2 that is now providing the measurement.s 1-6 above in the next column
- Repeat the steps in 4 and 5 above until you have completed your measurements.
The peak thick bar indicates the target position
You can to export the image by pressing the Export button. This will save the image to the memory card. These images can be viewed when connecting the control unit to a PC.
