FlexiTrace™

Radiodetection's FlexiTrace™ is a flexible rod containing conducting wires running the full length of the rod, with a transmitting sonde at the end and inserted into pipes and ducts where size restricts the use of larger diameter sondes or Flexrods. When used with a Radiodetection locator or transmitter, the FlexiTrace can be used to trace the line of the pipe or to locate blockages and collapses.

Available with a rod diameter of 5mm (0.2") and lengths of up to 80m (263') the FlexiTrace can be used to pinpoint the location of a blockage or used to trace the entire route of the pipe.

The rod can be energized by a Radiodetection Genny or TX and inserted into pipes as small as 12mm and located at depths of up to 3m (10'). It is used with a Radiodetection C.A.T or precision locator to find and trace non-metallic ducts and pipes. Available in English, Dutch, French or German language variants.

WARNING!: If using the FlexiTrace with a TX- Transmitter, please ensure that the output power of the TX does not exceed 1W. As the sonde will become very hot and is likely to become damaged.

To use as a mouse, connect both transmitter leads to the FlexiTrace lugs. In this mode, only the tip of the FlexiTrace will be relocatable. To trace the whole length, connect the red transmitter lead to a FlexiTrace terminal and ground the black lead, either to the earth stake or to an appropriate earthing point.

Flexrod

Radiodetection Flexrods are used for inserting and pushing Radiodetection sondes into and along pipes, drains and sewers etc. When used with a Radiodetection locator, Flexrods can be used for tracing the path of the pipe or for locating blockages within. Alternatively the flexrod can be used to pull or thread draw strings/cables through ducts and pipes.

A sturdy, high quality steel frame incorporating a manual brake to help maintain control of the rod is used to house the flexrod. The glass fibre rod in a polypropylene sleeve provides resistance to abrasion, most solvents, oils and acids, together with providing a durable, long lasting visible rod with very good bend strength for operating in tight bends.

Radiodetection Flexrods are available in a wide range, with rod diameters from 4.5mm (0.18") to 11mm (0.43") and rod lengths of 50m (164') to 300m (964').

Sondes

Sondes are self-contained, battery operated devices that are used for tracing and for locating blockages. They transmit at 33 kHz unless otherwise stated, and are commonly fitted to a flexible rod for inserting and pushing along ducts and pipes, or for smaller diameter sondes ' jetted' through pipes or ducts to trace or locate blockages or collapses. An optional plain end cap with eyelet can be purchased for some sondes and is particularly useful when pulling a sonde through a duct on the end of a string, or when 'blown' through ducts.

NOTE: Sondes are intended to be used for location purposes only and should be used in this way. Failure to do so may result in damage to the sonde and may invalidate the warranty. Sondes are not classified as 'intrinsically safe' for use in applications where hazardous gases are present. The majority of Radiodetection sondes transmit on 33kHz and as such can be used with a wide range of Radiodetection locators. For 512Hz and 8kHz sondes, please check with the specific locator user guide for compatibility.
