Setting up your locator to work with RD Map+

You must setup or verify that your compatible locator is setup to work with RD Map+.  There are 2 critical settings to check:

  1. Verify that the Bluetooth® wireless interface is ON

  1. Verify that the locator is set to use PPP when transfering survey measurements over Bluetooth

 

Follow the instructions below, to esnure your locator is set up correctly:

 

Setup a RD8200 locator

 

Turn the survey measurements Bluetooth wireless interface ON

  1. Press the mceclip0.png key to enter the menu
  2. Scroll to the SMLOG menu using the mceclip1.png  ormceclip2.png    keys
  3. Press the mceclip3.png key to enter the SMLOG menu
  4. Scroll up or down to the COM menu
  5. Press the mceclip3.png key to enter the COM menu
  6. Scroll up or down to the ON command
  7. Press the mceclip4.png key to confirm your choice and exit the menu

 

Set up your locator to use PPP 

  1. Press the mceclip0.png key to enter the menu
  2. Scroll to the SMLOG menu using the mceclip1.png  ormceclip2.png    keys
  3. Press the mceclip3.png key to enter the SMLOG menu
  4. Scroll up or down to the PROT menu
  5. Press the mceclip3.png key to enter the PROT menu
  6. Scroll up or down to the PPP option
  7. Press the mceclip4.png key to confirm your choice and exit the menu

 

Setup a RD8100 or RD7100M locator

 

Turn the survey measurements Bluetooth wireless interface ON

  1. Press the mceclip0.png key to enter the menu
  2. Scroll to the SMLOG menu using the mceclip1.png  ormceclip2.png    keys
  3. Press the mceclip3.png key to enter the SMLOG menu
  4. Scroll up or down to the BT menu
  5. Press the mceclip3.png key to enter the BT menu
  6. Scroll up or down to the ON command
  7. Press the mceclip4.png key to confirm your choice and exit the menu
