RD Map+ is designed to work with a compatible precision locator.

 

Before pairing enusre your locator is set up to work with RD Map+

You can use the Locator settings to Pair a locator and/or to Select a paired locator.

Pairing a precision locator

To pair a compatible precision locator you must follow these steps:

  1. Start by setting Bluetooth pairing mode on your locator : 

 

RD8200 locator

To pair a compatible handheld device to a RD8200 (all models) you need to set this into Bluetooth pairing mode:

  1. Press the mceclip0.png key to enter the menu
  2. Scroll to the SMLOG menu using the mceclip1.png or mceclip2.png keys
  3. Press the mceclip3.png key to enter the SMLOG menu
  4. Scroll up or down to the PAIR menu
  5. Press the mceclip4.png key and the locator will be ready to pair with your compatible device

NOTE: The locator pairing mode will time out and end after 1 minute.

 

 

RD8100(All models) and RD7100M locator

To pair a compatible handheld device to a RD8100 (all models) or RD7100 RF Marker you need to set this into Bluetooth pairing mode:

  1. Press the mceclip0.png key to enter the menu
  2. Scroll to the BT menu using the mceclip1.png or mceclip2.png keys
  3. Press the mceclip3.png key to enter the BT menu
  4. Scroll up or down to the PAIR menu
  5. Press the mceclip3.png key to enter the PAIR menu
  6. Scroll up or down to the BT-PC option
  7. Press the mceclip4.png key and the locator will be ready to pair with your compatible device

NOTE: The locator pairing mode will time out and end after 1 minute.

 

  1. Pair your handheld device with your locator:

 

Android device

 

NOTE: The image below is for reference only. The Bluetooth pairing screen will vary depending on your mobile device and operating system. The serial number of your locator is printed on the label next to the  battery compartment.

  1. On your android device go to the settings menu and select Pair a device
  2. Wait for your locator to appear in the list of available devices and select it

NOTE: If you are pairing a RD8200 locator, the Bluetooth friendly name will start with 82, for example 82-123 or 82G-123. If you see RDRX-82-123 or RDRX-82G-123 this is a different Bluetooth port which is not used for survey measurements. Please make sure to set your locator into pairing mode first.

  1. Enter the pairing code 1234 and press Pair
  2. Wait for the pairing process to complete
  3. Go back to RD Map+

 

Selecting a default locator

You must select a paired locator to work with RD Map+ :

  1. Press Select a device
  2. Choose your locator and press OK
