CALSafe is an advanced feature of all RD8200 and RD7200 locators which prevents the unit from operating outside the calibration period, helping to ensure compliance with individual company polices or regulatory requirements.

Once a CALSafe has been set for a locator, this will display at startup the number of days left when the unit is within 31 days from the calibration expiry date or a custom chosen CALSafe date

The locator will stop functioning when the calibration expiry or CALSafe date has been reached.

To use the locator again you can setup a new date after an eCert or calibration at an approved service centre or disable this feature.

To setup CALSafe in your locator follow these steps:

  1. Connect the locator using the USB Type C lead. If you have a Li-Ion battery pack leave this connected
  2. Switch on the locator
  3. Select Yes to enable CALSafe

NOTE: When the Calibration End Date is reached the locator will stop working after a 31-day count-down.

  1.  Use the slider bar to vary the number of days to the CALSafe date
  2. Select Write

To disable CALSafe in your locator follow these steps:

  1. Connect the locator using the USB Type C lead. If you have a Li-Ion battery pack leave this connected
  2.  Switch on the locator.
  3.  Select No to disable CALSafe
  4. NOTE: Selecting No disables CALSafe - enabling the locator to still be used but with a CAL past due warning every time the locator is powered on
  5. Select Write.

Note: If you have issues with your USB connection such as failing to recognise your locator or Low Battery warnings please follow the  USB Troubleshooting guide
